1. Select the Email app on your Android device (Mobile phone, Tablet or Phablet).

On the 'Set up account'

Enter your full "Email Address"

Enter the password for your "Email Address"

Tap "Next"

2. On 'What type of account'

Choose the type of email account you will be using. In this example we will be illustrating IMAP

1. POP3


What's the difference?

POP is the conventional incoming email protocol which only downloads email to your system, and usually (but not always) deletes the email from the remote server. Issues can arise if you have configured the same email on more than one device such as desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile phone. You need to delete the same email on every device should you wish to remove it.

IMAP is the latest protocol which allows users to sync their email with remote servers and among multiple devices.

3.  Incoming Server Settings

Username: Enter your full email address
Password: The password for your email address.

IMAP server: mail.propertypal.com
Port: 143 (Change to 143 if it's 993)

Security type: Use Non Secure (No SSL)
IMAP path prefix:  INBOX

'INBOX' will allow for you to store your Sent, Drafts and Deleted emails on the server.

Tap Next.


Outgoing Server Settings

SMTP server: mail.propertypal.com
Port: 25 (use 26 if 25 doesn't work)
Security type: Non Secure (No SSL)
Require sign-in: Check this as you will need to authenticate with the SMTP server.
Username: Enter your full email address
Password: The password for your email address..

Tap Next.

5. Account Options


Email Checking Frequency: Set how often you would like your device to check for new emails.

Note: The frequency of your email will affect your battery life.

Sync email from this account: Check this option if this will be your default email address

Notify me when email arrives: Leave this checked if you would like to be notified of new email messages.

Tap Next.

6. Name the account


You can name the email account, this can be helpful if you have multiple accounts on the one device.
Enter the name you would like to be shown on all outgoing emails that you send from the device.

Tap Done.
