In this article, we illustrate how to configure your emails on Apple iOS devices such as iPods, iPhones, iPads etc.

Note: The images are from an iPhone running on iOS. However, settings are similar on any iOS device.


  1. Tap Settings


2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars


3. Tap Add Mail Account

 4. Tap Other

5. Select Add Mail Account 

In the New Account menu, specify the following records:

  1. Name: your name, it will appear as a sender name 
  2. Address: your full email address
  3. Password: password of this email address
  4. Description: you can specify any description like 'Work Email' etc.



Fill in the Incoming Mail Server details as below

  1. Host Name:
  2. User Name: Your full email address.
  3. Password: The password for your email address.


Now, fill in the Outgoing Mail Server details as below

  1. Host Name: This is the same as the incoming server.
  2. User Name: This is required and again is your full email address.
  3. Password: The password for your email address.
  4. Tap Next. 


6. Cannot Verify Server Identity

If you get the following cannot verify server identity error, ignore and tap Continue

 7. Apple Mail will show the following screen as it is communicating with the Mail Server and checking the details at this stage. ( this may take a few minutes)


 8. If everything is correct, you will see the following screen


9. Now, if you see following screen, turn off the switch next to Notes and Click "Save" to finish


When the check is finished you will be redirected to Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen. 

Please enter your newly created account and go to Account Info. Scroll down the screen and select Advanced:



Ensure that the IMAP port number is 143 (without SSL).

Type 'INBOX' for IMAP Path Prefix /


To configure the port number to the Outgoing Server, please return to the previous menu Account Info and then to enter Outgoing Mail Server by clicking on Host name of the server.

Ensure that the Outgoing Server (SMTP) port number is 25 (without SSL).

NB:You can also use 26 if 25 isn't working


Once verified,the account is now ready to send and receive emails. 



Make sure the sent items are saved in the Sent Folder


 1. Start at the Home screen and go to Settings




2. Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendar” and select your IMAP account & Choose the Account

3. Scroll to the bottom, select “Advanced”, and change each of the “Mailbox Behaviours” items as needed (e.g., Choose Sent Mailbox and check "Sent Items")

4. Back to Account (top left). Everything should now be set up
